Who Made My Funky Monkey's Coat? Press

For the last few days I've been eyeing Gertrude Stein's Lectures in America. I was a little afraid of it, I felt like this:

Then I finally started reading it tonight. I like these lines in particular from the first lecture:

“...the choice the choice was the thing.”

“…when the confusion comes from the inside then it is a very confused confusion because it is a confusion inside the daily island life.”

“...and words had everything to do with it.”

“...the words have the liveliness of being constantly chosen.”

POPSICKLE 2010 unites Brooklyn’s literary curators for a two-day festival of readings, performances and screenings. The festival will take place on July 24th and 25th, from 3-8 PM on Saturday July 24th & 1-5 PM on Sunday July 25th.

POPSICKLE will take place at Bushwick’s beloved MARKET HOTEL at 1142 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn.
